After 15 seasons in the NFL as one of its best quarterbacks, Atlanta Falcons legend Matt Ryan has officially retired from the league. The 2016 NFL MVP announced he was hanging them up on Monday in a video address to fans.
A Career Filled with Success
Ryan played the majority of his career with the Falcons, where he became one of the franchise's most beloved players. He led the team to the Super Bowl in 2016, where they lost to the New England Patriots in overtime. In 2018, he was named the NFL's Most Valuable Player after throwing for 4,924 yards, 35 touchdowns, and seven interceptions.
Ryan's Retirement
Ryan signed a one-day contract with the Atlanta Falcons on Monday to announce his retirement from the NFL. In his video address to fans, he thanked the organization, his teammates, and the city of Atlanta for their support throughout his career.

Matt Ryan will be remembered as one of the most successful quarterbacks in NFL history. He finished his career with 59,735 passing yards, 377 touchdowns, and 173 interceptions. He was also named to the Pro Bowl four times and was a two-time All-Pro selection.
