Former Falcons and Colts Quarterback Calls It a Career

Matt Ryan, the quarterback who spent 14 seasons with the Atlanta Falcons, officially announced his retirement on Wednesday. The 38-year-old quarterback spent the 2021 and 2022 seasons with the Indianapolis Colts.
Ryan was a first-round pick by the Falcons in the 2008 NFL Draft. He quickly became one of the most prolific passers in the NFL, leading the league in passing yards in 2016 and 2018. He also led the Falcons to the Super Bowl in 2016, where they lost to the New England Patriots.
Ryan was traded to the Colts in 2021. He played two seasons in Indianapolis, starting 31 games. He finished his NFL career with 59,735 passing yards and 373 touchdowns.
Ryan is a four-time Pro Bowler and was named the NFL's MVP in 2016. He is considered one of the best quarterbacks of his generation and will be remembered as one of the greatest players in Falcons history.
