EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Manchester United earned a convincing 2-0 victory over Arsenal in a pre-season friendly at MetLife Stadium on Saturday night.
First-Half Dominance
United took control of the match early on, with Bruno Fernandes finding the net in the 25th minute. Jadon Sancho added a second goal just before halftime to give the Red Devils a comfortable lead heading into the break.
Trossard Strikes for Arsenal
Arsenal improved in the second half and created several chances, but they were unable to find a way past the United defense. Leandro Trossard scored a consolation goal in the 83rd minute, but it was not enough to prevent a defeat for the Gunners.
Pre-Season Preparation
The match was a valuable opportunity for both teams to prepare for the upcoming Premier League season. United will face Brighton & Hove Albion in their opening match on August 7, while Arsenal will host Crystal Palace on August 11.
